Diagnosis Skin Thing
I've had a weird spot on the back of my neck for almost a year. It is driving me crazy! I haven't gone to the doctor because I don't have insurance. So, this think is about an inch in diameter and goes from being dry and scaly to angry red and seeping with sticky fluid, perhaps plasma. It itches, it burns when scratched and it gets worse after sleeping. It's also making me break out with pimples, which are hard to pop. I've thrown everything I can think of at it: Neosporin, Cortisone, aloe vera, lotion, diaper rash cream, plain soap and water, athlete's foot cream, Betadine, Eczema spray, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, sunlight, talc powder (both scented and unscented), Vaseline, nothing at all, halobatol cream (which mostly worked but I don't have access to anymore). This thing has been here for 9 months. I'm tired of putting up with it! Someone help! I know ya'll aren't doctors, but perhaps you have a better solution until I get myself to the doctor. This isn't the only skin problem I have, but this one drives me the craziest most. |

Re: Diagnosis Skin Thing
Hmm, that looks a bit like when I had ringworm on my back a few years ago. /: I used betadine and some anti-fungal stuff on it. (Since ringworm is a fungus.) But I am no doctor, it could be something else. |

Re: Diagnosis Skin Thing
Wouldn't ringworm lead to more than one spot? I would also assume one of my animals (cats, dog, rabbits) would have symptoms as well. They're all fine, except the dog who is about to be murdered if she doesn't quit chewing on her damn foot. Lol

Re: Diagnosis Skin Thing
It could be an inflamed scalp. Do you also suffer from bits of dandruff? An inflamed scalp/dandruff or any type of irritation of the scalp affects the entire hair which can cause those spots you are on about. Most of these type of problems are treated with a special shampoo. |
