Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

I thought that if I quit smoking, I'd have to quit drinking too, the two seem to go hand in hand. I quit smoking (Cold turkey), after day 3, it's smooth sailing. I enjoy a nice red wine from time to time & have no desire for cigarettes at all, just makes me wonder why I did it in the first place. Good luck quitting, you WON'T regret it.
Tee-hee day 3? You've still got a looong way to go. Day 3 is like cruising.
I've stopped cold-turkey after ca. 11 years of pretty light-to-moderate smoking (sometimes 12, sometimes 5 a day... and everything in between).
Haven't touched a cig in 14 months now and feeling good (the thought alone repulses me).

But - at the 3rd day I was "omg great" as well.
Then that disgusting cough kicks in and you start spitting grey goo for a month. Yeah, the lungs are cleaning themselves, right, but fuck that was NASTY and painful.
And then, dude - the worst part is when you get the capillary circulation again. You'll start itching and scratching head, hands, feet for days as blood returns to the outermost tissues, leaving them extremely sensitive for weeks.
To me, the worst part about quitting is not the first week. It's the fucking second month

Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

I don't think cells existed yet. Organisms originate from chemistry, time and temperature, under ideal conditions. Also, energy, such as electrical storms are believed to aid in the development from complex hydrocarbons - but nobody knows for shure. My guess about religion is that it was found by people who didn't understand shit about chemistry or science and filled the gaps with bullshit they used to gain leverage over people with fear - but what the fuck do I know.

Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

Yeah, reading passages from a mythical magical bullshit book is going to help. Know what would really help? A large IV bolus of morphine or concentrated barbituate. Not letting a person slowly choke to death is kinder and more human than spewing religious crap at them as they struggle to breathe...
As a hospice nurse, I give atropine under the tongue, that decreases all those gurgles by drying everything up, morphine 20-40mg also under the tongue and sometimes mixed with 1mg of ativan like a little cocktail. Never have overdosed anyone but we do keep people comfortable and pain free. Also have a chaplain and bereavement counselor present for the family. No matter what my beliefs are, I have to respect everyone's beliefs, especially at such an emotional time for the family.

Ah, theology, the intensive study of the non-existent. There was no life at the Big Bang, nor for another ten-billion years. What cells are you talking about?

Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

One of my grandfathers had lung cancer which went to his bone then brain but his COD on his death certificate is anorexia. He was once well built but when a tiny old man from the mortuary carried his lifeless body from the bed to the stretcher he looked like a Holocaust victim. I miss him much. He was good to me and my sister. To this day I wonder if cannabis could have helped him. I know for a fact it soothes nausea and of course you eat

Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

Pray if you wish, maybe it will give some comfort to the patient as well.

I think a well calibrated morphine drip is more helpful though.

At a certain stage, the amount of morphine needed to mitigate the pain will lead to death.

That is a well calibrated outcome considering the circumstances.

Re: Death Bed Lung Cancer

suicide is due to the Judaism influence. ive studied theology for almost 30 years.

to state that a creator doesnt exist, is as ignorant as those praying for you.

ill ask you one question, lets see how your faith in science goes.

if the universe was truly a singularity, that expanded due to the 'big bang', then how is it ANY cell survived, considering almost all cell life dies at 165 degrees celcius.

now to be fair, in the name of science, a supernova rolls with a temperature at 60,000 degrees... even though we can accurately predict with 'science' that the big bang would have been on a larger scale than a super nova, and more than likely more heat.

so you expect me to believe that an explosion 4000 times hotter was magically created, and was not only smart enough to not burn off every cell, but to form gravity as well? sounds like i need to be fed as much bullshit from the science side, as a theological standpoint.
30 years of theology and you never once bothered to honestly look into the questions you just presented? You really think that any scientist believes that cells were created at the birth of the universe? Also, if you're wondering how a universe could come from nothing, look at the zero energy universe theory.
