Re: The Dawood Military Hospital Scandal
How about I give ya a partial apology? I went digging and found there is a US general being investigated for trying to cover up conditions....and I guarantee his punishment if found guilty will not be enough. However, there are three US Colonels who blew the whistle and reported the problems. In every culture there are those who bring others down, and those who would do others better. BUT, I did see a lot of good, and attempts at good, when it came to providing medical care. Cheers, and thanks for the original post. |

Re: The Dawood Military Hospital Scandal
This Hospital was funded by the US, so who was stealing the money, why didn't oversight report this, how long was it going on before it was caught? There is a lot more to this story that needs to come out and someone has to answer for it. |

Re: The Dawood Military Hospital Scandal
I don't care who funds a medical facility, where it is or who the patients are......the VERY FIRST THING we are taught is "first do no harm". If another medical professional cannot abide by that, get another fucking job. Here is just a few statements from a little covenent called "The Hippocratic Oath" (I'm sure you've heard of it). Something I have to live by, and apparently these assholes forgot when they left school: "I will not be ashamed to say "I know not", nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery. I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick." |
