it's a way of coping, stress relief. emotions become so overwhelmingly strong and frightening that they cannot be dealt with any other way. i fight it on a daily basis and have cut free breaks of up to 8 weeks long. the fact that she cuts her tat though leads me to believe that she is very close to making the final decision. most SIrs will not cut their tats. usually tats are for hiding earlier scars. i've taken pics of myself, but you will never see them online; no one will ever see them period. i am documenting my journey from illness to recovery for myself alone

What does it matter if you asked for them or not? If you want a scar, give yourself a scar, it is not an insult to scared people. Also, the feel of a blade just barely cutting through your skin does feel pretty good.  |

many of us were molested and raped as children/teens/young adults. it colors how we see ourselves. we aren't sluts at all, but we never stop feeling dirty. when i cut i think of it as a punishment for being a bad girl. i wasn't bad, i was only a baby when my uncle began molesting me.
