Yeah, I've had C3-C7 fused and they did the ACDF. It is more common as it generally heals better, etc. Some of the complications that can arise are when they move the esophagus over. If the ENT doesn't do it right, you can have problems swallowing. I had issues swallowing bigger pills for 3 years after my first (C3-C5) but my second (C5-C7) was flawless in that respect. My surgeon did say that if I needed any more fused, they would have to do a PCDF. So perhaps here it was done because it involved the C2 level. |

I also had it done through the front in my neck. C5 or 6 can't remember... cadaver bone, plate and screws. Also had spinal stenosis where my right arm became useless.
