FYI: this maggot infection was MOST LIKELY the result of 1 of 2 things...(A)the phillipino/a/ had an open wound...touched some form of feces and then most likely touched the wound...infecting it with the maggot larvae (MUCH smaller)at the time...or (B)this person was attacked by the botfly, which lays it's eggs in the open wounds of animals and humans...and the larvae feast on the rotting flesh when born!! Botflies are native to the tropical regions of the world...as well as the middle east and sub-saharan Africa.
