Re: Allergic to Water: Aquagenic Urticaria
Can she drink water? What about pure fruit juice? Or soda? (I'd have to mainline caffien as I'm not a fan off coffe). She could clean herself with that alcohol hand sanitizer stuff, baby-butt-wipes perhaps, do like the Roman's used to and smear olive oil all over herself and scrape it off with a stick.

Re: Allergic to Water: Aquagenic Urticaria
I have urticaria myself, but it used to be much worse. There are different types of urticaria, I used to have dermatographic urticaria. Dermatographic urticaria is caused by pressure on the skin, like scratching it. Mine used to be so bad, I could use my nails on my skin to write letters if I wanted. My skin would be really red and swollen, it also gives a burning sensation (like after you've accidentally touched poison ivy). But it faded after a few years, and I eventually got the kind of urticaria that is affected by heat (cannot remember the name of this type) I'd notice it everytime I'd be at the gym on the treadmill, I'd get hot and sweaty, and my arms would start to really itch and get red. Anyways, Urticaria is just fucking annoying. And the only pills you can take are antihistamines, which don't do shit. I've taken them all. However I think there's some sort of light treatment for the ones that have it in their skin, like I did.. |

Re: Allergic to Water: Aquagenic Urticaria
Because of the urticaria? I'm pretty sure she smells just as much as you do when you sweat. When my urticaria was at its worst, I never smelled any different or worse. What an odd assumption to make |

Re: Allergic to Water: Aquagenic Urticaria
I've got non-specific chronic urticaria. No fun, I blow up and look like the alligator man. I used to eat benedryl like it was candy, didn't touch it. Fortunately I live in an enlightened (LOL) state that "allows" me to use mj. Works like a charm. I haven't suffered a bout since, and before I was experiencing a major breakout once every two or three weeks...
