Re: To All the Smokers

Sure. Why not enjoy having an ugly, wrinkled old looking leather face by the time you're 40. And enjoy shriveled gums and loose yellow/brown teeth. Enjoy the nasty cigarette bad breath and smoke stink all over you... that's a real turn on.
Maybe not every smoker will get cancer, but if you do then you can enjoy suffering from that and regretting your blaze attitude towards smoking.

Maybe you smokers can enjoy heroin too? What the fuck... I'm sure it's quite enjoyable.
Interesting.. but I could stop smoking right now, crave for a cigarette for a week, then get hit by a drunk driver, so the last week of my life I spent in misery.. I think I'll just continue smoking :)

Re: To All the Smokers

You know what did it for me? I have asthma, so smoking was idiotic anyway. I didn't smoke until I married someone who did, but it was my responsibility. Anyway, one day I was coughing and I started gasping and really couldn't breather, and the coughs became really almost spasmodic, and out of my mouth and into the bathroom sink erupted a mixture of blood and sputum, covered with little black specks of what I guess was tar. It's been ten years, and I haven't had one since. You can do it too! Life is better!

Re: To All the Smokers

my dad quit six years ago...just been diagnosed with mouth cancer the week before Christmas so it goes to show, quit 'em while you can, but it doesn't guarantee a cancer free life...
Hey BlackWidow, very sorry to hear that. I know it's tough, because my husband had been diagnosed with a throat cancer related to smoking and he had stopped 30 years prior.

You can help educate people though. There's so many benefits to quitting smoking, but, not getting cancer isn't one of them. Once you smoke, whether you quit or not, the damage that could potentially cause the cancer is already done.

Back in 97 my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the throat (only 3% of ppl with this cancer never smoked) He had quit smoking in his mid 20's, got the cancer almost 30 years later.

That's a shitty ass attitude towards people. A lot of people who smoke started when they were young teenagers, which makes it almost impossible to quit due to neurological changes created by the nicotine while their brains were still growing.

You know putting people down by calling them disgusting and comparing them to heroin users doesn't compel anyone to 'quit' and do better. Or are you just sadistic maybe?

My grandmother watched her mother die for heart disease, emphysema etc from smoking, watched her toes turn black and fall off from dry gangrene caused by smoking and even THAT couldn't get her OR my mother off cigarettes. My grandmother had started at probably around 13 like they all did back then, and just going from a camel to a low nicotine cigarette like doral caused withdrawals so severe her back seized up and she was in the hospital for a week. Nothing the doctors did could help her back and finally she smoked a regular cigarette and everything went back to normal.

How is somebody supposed to quit that?? At least heroin addicts can get methadone, cigarette users get fucking shit.

Stop claiming that I said and/or did anything w/ a "shitty ass attitude" towards anyone: And don't claim that I put anyone down by saying that they were "disgusting" when I didn't.
Also, don't claim that I put anyone down by comparing them to "heroin users" when I didn't.
Go back and actually read and absorb my post and then comment without the defensive hysterical attitude and without claiming I said things that I didn't.
"Sadistic" am I? Over dramatic are you? A little crazy maybe? Can't take to hear the truth so that must mean that I must be "sadistic"? Fuckin please. Get a grip.

Yes, a lot of people started smoking when they were teens. I started in fifth grade (Like 11 years old?), quit in 7th grade and started again in 8th grade. From there I smoked full time until I was 25.

"Impossible to quit". No. That's complete bullshit. Total fucking bullshit. Put the fuckin cigarettes down and that's that. You've quit. Not impossible at all. Ask some of the millions of reformed smokers how impossible it was to quit.

Yes, many people feel like they can't quit this addiction. But they can.
And, FWI, my mothers father died years ago from a horrible case of lung cancer. It didn't stop him from smoking. My 76 year old mother still smokes her disgusting Pall Mall non filtered cigs... just like she's done since she was 15. She's a nut and too weak to quit.

My father died of lung cancer and emphysema, at 74, caused by a lifetime of smoking disgusting non filtered Camels.
He was strong enough to quit years before he died though.

Stop the dramatics: Smokers have the patch and whatnot if they need it to combat withdrawal.
Someones back seizing up from having no cigs???
I'm not a Dr but that doesn't sound logical. Your granny could have quit. Anyone can.

Well you're dumb. I mean, you have all the right to smoke, and nobody can stop you... but that logic is bullshit.

Interesting.. but I could stop smoking right now, crave for a cigarette for a week, then get over it, so the last years of my life I spent in health and with more financial stability.. I think I'll just quit smoking :)
See what I did there? Yep... I removed a good chuck of the retardedness from your post. The underlined parts are the parts I've altered. Looks better my way IMO.

I can't stand smokers who try to justify themselves in stupid fucking ways. Admit that you're nicotine's bitch and deal with it. Don't make bullshit excuses based in rediculous logic.

edit: You could also live well into your 50's, then be in agonizing pain all the time and a burden on society only to die with the lasst 5 or 10 years of your life being in misery.

Re: To All the Smokers

i lit up a cigarette downtown on a busy street , waiting for the train . a lady walks up and says "Excuse me - but Im allergic - blah blah . ."

Remember its Outside . On a busy intersection. Still I flicked it down and stepped it out to shut her up .

Not TWO MINUTES LATER a bus pulls up to a stop ahead and belches out A HUGE CLOUD OF EXHAUST . Right where this lady was standing , fumes permeating .

She didnt Even Notice - no change of expression . I guess she was busy on the lookout for another cigarette smoker to be a bullshit pain in the ass to
Isn't that the truth lol
