With modern vascular surgery she should make a very good recovery and it won't look that bad after a few years. She is fortunate that her face is mostly intact as some people who are scalped have their skin split from ear to ear right across their eye sockets and that leaves a scar you can't hide with your hairline.

Listen to this, go-cart scalpings are uncommon but industrial accidents aren't and a lot of people get really messed up from hair, loose clothing, long sleeves, jewelry or gloves getting caught up in equipment and pulling them in.
