Stomach-churning video posted online has captured the moment Russian doctors removed a 1.2-metre snake from a female patient’s mouth. The snake had reportedly slithered inside the woman while she was asleep in the backyard of her home in the village of Levashi, Dagestan. The woman was taken to hospital and placed under general anaesthetic after feeling unwell. |

As a child in a tiny village in Greece my grandmother and the other village elders always shouted at us not to sleep in the field because snakes would crawl inside our mouths. And now here I am seeing it happen for real at age 32. I thought to myself, shit it wasn't a wives tale after all!
