Re: US Army "Kill Team" Posing With The Dead
I have respect for them. Death is a part of life and what is going on over there. Just because I think that pictures of the dead should be shown to the public doesn't mean I am dishonoring them. Shock the public into caring. All this "support our troops" shit you see everywhere is just bandwagon patriotism. It isn't real. What are those people doing to support the troops? Most of them aren't doing shit. Maybe if they saw what we are going through than they would really support us instead of just throwing a ribbon magnet on their car. |

Exactly why I didn't support the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq, nor US involvement in Vietnam. The Soldiers were Psychotic and Blood Hungry, rather than "Fighters of Democracy"

"Psychotic and Blood Hungry"? Please cite evidence that every soldier is like that. There are ones that are fucked up, but in reality soldiers are level and not fanatical killers.

Re: US Army "Kill Team" Posing With The Dead
Support the troops doesn't mean you have to start a parade. It means simple things fo most people, like a sticker or a magnet saying thank you, to remind others to have them in there thoughts for soldiers who see it, it gives them pride, that what they do is appreciated. I have been to rallies and home comings with thousands in attendance. So I don't see what is crap about patriotism or visibly supporting our soldiers. About the pictures, we will never see eachothers points of view. I think of the families at home who that pictures blasted on the news like that would torture. They already go through hell, that's another reason for the support stickers, for them to know others are grateful for their sons or fathers sacrifice. Its about honor, respect, our fallen deserve it, they deserve that much for their life. God bless everyone of them.

Re: US Army "Kill Team" Posing With The Dead
Putting a sticker on a car doesn't support anything. If those people really wanted to support the troops and the families than they all would be either donating money and/or their time to organizations specifically there to help with counseling and family therapy. There are so many things they could do besides jump on some feel good bandwagon. I still send packages to my buddies and several others I have never met that are over there. I donate money to several organizations to help those that need help. I volunteer to help and listen to families, specifically children of fallen soldiers. I volunteer with VHV (Vets Helping Vets). I do all of this on top of serving. Again. Stickers, magnets, signs, shirts, and all of that other fluff doesn't do shit except give lazy people a false sense of actually doing something. |
