Brazil - Bloke Shot in His Head After Doing a Spot of Shopping!
On the morning of 9th August 2022 in the Nova Cidade neighbourhood (Brazil), 37 year old J.E.C. was murdered. 'J' had gone to the fair to buy gum + bananas. After he put his purchases in the car, 2 men on a motorbike pulled up. They aimed their guns + shot 'J' 8 times; 2 in his back + 6 in his head. 'J' had been released from prison on 31st May for drug trafficking.

Greta find, Simone. Christ, I wish all the sets these days had photos this clear and numerous. I wish even half of them did. I spent two+ hours hunting images for that motorcycle chick I posted and didn't find a single image half as good as most of these.  |

Don't roast me if this is dumb... but what is that streak of darker blood? Why is it darker and so pronounced than the rest? Image "5.jpeg" is a good one to see it. Yes, great set Simone! The one with the guy over him crying tugged at me just a wee bit.

The bright red blood is arterial blood, the dark red blood is venous blood.

AHHH yes... makes sense. Thank you so much. And the information retained by me from my 7th grade health class back in the 80's... Arteries carry blood from the heart (oxygenated?) and Veins carry the blood to it (not yet oxygenated hence darker color). I also vaguely remember something about blood in veins being blue? I could have been stoned that day though so it could be an assumption I made based on staring at my own veins through my skin too long.

You might have been stoned, but people have been saying that forever so your teacher probably did say it. It's never actually blue, but it can be so dark red that it seems to have a bluish cast. And when seen through light-colored skin it can definitely make skin look blue when its depleted of oxygen, hence the term cyanosis. Not so easy to recognize in dark-skinned people. With them you need to look at the pink parts to recognize it (inner lips, gums, fingernails, etc).
