Re: The Terror and Horror That Was China in 1937

My grandpa brought back a sword from Japan during his stay at Iwo Jima. The gruesome thing was that the jap's hand was still clenched to the hilt. I remember everytime he would bring it out to show the family, the thing would stink up the place. I'm not sure if he ever got the hand off or not. I was real young so I never got the chance to see it.
Damn... that's just crazy... the hand was still attached? *shudder*

Re: The Terror and Horror That Was China in 1937

Yes, they are showa imperial soldiers. The pictures were likely taken during the infamous Nankin massacre, where between 100,000 and 300,000 Chinese were killed. Japanese soldiers were ordered to "teach a lesson" to the inhabitants of the fallen city, to systematically rape women and execute as many men as it was physically possible to burry. Chinese POWs were used for Japanese soldiers to practice their baillonette abilities.
Yes. Japan has yet to apologize. Perhaps China should 'teach a lesson' to the Japanese?

I want to show this set and the corresponding story to one of those American kids who think Japan is the greatest country on earth because of anime.

True, Japanese history has many gruesome episodes
(like most countries), but
present day Japanese citizens are not to blame, of course.

Re: The Terror and Horror That Was China in 1937

Circumstances have changed dramatically in China in the 7 decades since these gruesome snaps were taken- they now have colour photography.....

So true!
A friend of mine is studying Japanese (started last week) just because of that!
It's so lame. The Japanese in that time period were really sick, what they did to POW and everything..
I really hate "grave of the fireflies" because of that,I hate bullshit propaganda.
When you say japan and WW2, people say
*cry cry* grave of the fireflies! *cry cry*.
fuck grave of the fireflies
