So close to the Kingdom of Heaven "naturally," yet straight to the Abyss "unnaturally!"

Re: Terminal Cancer Patient Possibly Kills Herself

Very sad, I can somewhat understand her choice. Having terminal cancer perhaps it’s better to commit suicide rather than to die slow and painfully.

Re: Terminal Cancer Patient Possibly Kills Herself

I think it should a combo of morphine and Valium with an optional nitrous oxide/oxygen mask

Benzos/Barbiturates mixed with opiates are excellent for stopping breathing. Meanwhile the nitrous oxide would slowly be increased and the oxygen decreased.
Our hospice patients were usually given a morphine or phenobarb drip, with healthy doses of lorazepam as needed. The drip could be adjusted (read: turned up) as well. Nitrous wasn't available to us in hospital, oxygen was used for comfort measures.

It breaks my heart but at the same time, I’m relieved for she and her family. She’s no longer suffering the pain and indignity brought on by cancer.

That's amazing, you have the exact same method that I would think would be the best for euthanasia too. Except the nitrous part I would've never thought of that but I know I'm well aware from personal experience and the statistics of OD deaths that benzo's and opiates are the Best and most peaceful route. I mean why should suffering people have to resort to this?
