Hard-hitting and graphic, but extremely interesting.  Even though averages are just, well, averages, it was quite impressive to get to know the statics. I've never given them much thought before.

Great post. Thanks. If that guy in the "hit by train" picture lasted anywhere near 17.92 minutes, he should be in Guinness. Also not surprised at all by fire having the highest pain rating. |

For skewed data like this the median should always be used rather than the mean (average). I really don't know why they used the mean..?  Averages are great for symmetrical data though. Unique post on the statistics of suicide methods, thank you OP!!
