I think the pain gauge is also including mental anguish. I would think that while hanging, bleeding out, drowning or self inflicted gsw would send a person's body into shock and release an enormous amount of adrenaline. However, the mental side of all this is the part that gets me in suicides. I often think about what a person was thinking during their last moments alive. Now, for hangings and drownings, they could possibly choose not to follow through after they initiated the process. So those people are surely committed to the act. I also think about those that jump from height or shoot themselves, or really any other way that there is no return from. I often think if these people regret the decision instantaneously during their last few moments. Hell, I don't know. I do know that suicide hurts a lot of people, especially those who love them. These are just my thoughts on this. One way or another, we will all die. I prefer not to know when I will pass. |

Great post Sharon. ( I detest 'averages'. They don't mean shit basically. Someone earns a little, someone earns a lot so the average person does quite well. Someone dies in 2 minutes, someone dies in 10 from the same cause of death, the average is 6 mins. It's crap. For some reason it drives me insane. I cannot stand 'averages'!!!)  |

Cute post.... If there's anything that gets to me, it's the suicides. Had a beautiful girl just a few days ago that was arguing with her BF and Mom... she just grabbed a gun and while the BF and Mom were talking, she went outside and blew her brains out (literally).  That will teach them right  Just messed up the parents and BF pretty much for life, oh and shook up one lonely Mortician that had to work on her. Of course I creeped her on FB and that didn't help... Yep these suicides just fuck with my mind. I cremated a baby the same day... Nothing Cremating suicidal hot chicks... Damn what a shame  |

Effectiveness I understand... but how could anyone possibly know the exact time in minutes (unless they were there when something occurred) and the pain felt during the occurrence (unless they had some time of machine hooked to the victims?
