Haha...Now I'm imagining all sorts of twisted bizzare positions corpses may be found in...and the attendents pushing and pulling with all their might to try and get them to bend to fit.....and rotten arms and legs snapping off from it on the decomp corpes!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Thanks PinkThing!

Rigor only lasts for a few hours...it sets in about 3 hours after death and it usually subsides after 12 hours....Its not like a decaying rotting corpse is gonna be in rigor.

There's 2 times a body goes into rigor. But if a corpse goes through both stages and begins to putrefy in the position of death, moving the corpse at that point will be difficult because the tendons and ligaments at each joint kinda freeze in the death position....and if left undisturbed for a long time, you pull or try to bend hard enough though, the damn thing may snap, or worse, the rotting putrid meat will slough off.
