Smashed Head on
Happened yesterday. Bus liner suddenly went to opposite lane to overtake. The bus was tailgating and just suddenly swerved out without looking first. And caught a newly recruited police officer head on. Took the bus more than 15 meters to stop, dragging the policeman and his motorcycle along. |

Re: Smashed Head on
The most disturbing thing about that set of pics is the unfazed, curious, but unabashed faces of the crowd of onlookers! |

Re: Smashed Head on
that is not a filipino smile :) it doesn't look to be a genuine smile to me anyway; but that is a normal look of horror and sadness from a filipino. their smiles are huge and light up rooms - this look doesn't light anything up. they are used to seeing this type of event, if not live then in the newspapers and on tv, and with life being much tougher over there than in the western world, their facial expressions look different to ours |

Re: Smashed Head on
people in the philippines can not afford leathers or cars - they know the risk, but have no choice but to use dangerous forms of transport while wearing clothes suitable for the tropics in their tropical country |

Re: Smashed Head on
Thats actually their training shorts when doing physical exercises and stuffs. And from what i heard, they just finished several laps of jogging and was on their way back to their detachment. And he was on the right lane. Its just that 99% of bus drivers around here are complete road maniacs. One of their style is racing against other buses to get the passengers first. Designated bus stops is not that popular around here. So this one is tailgating the one in front so it wont dare stop then just suddenly swerved out of slipstreaming to overtake, and ram a motorcycle head on. |
