Re: Russian Man Killed by a Bear
I agree,I can't understand that either every time a person gets mauled to death by wild animals they always shoot the animals as if they did something with malious intent,.my gosh if there going to execute an animal like a criminal then at least give them a fair trial, I mean can you imagine court room drama? A prosecuting attorney trying to cross examine a bear and the defense objects saying 'objection your honor we already know it's a beast and it's wild and able to kill a grown man with one swing of its paw...' :faceplate |

Re: Russian Man Killed by a Bear
I was contemplating the same scenario myself. Well, in addition to the fact that the trauma to the face couldn't have possibly led to death barring three scenarios; the first being that the hunter bled out, I see no evidence of massive bleeding unless it ran under the body. Or scenario 2; choking on his own blood after succumbing to shock. Or finally, scenario 3; The man suffers a heart attack after being attacked by the bear. Don't get me wrong, the trauma is severe, yes. This amount of trauma would not kill a healthy, semi-healthy or perhaps even a borderline-healthy man. It just leaves unanswered questions. |

Re: Russian Man Killed by a Bear
Shoot the bear to prevent future attacks because obviously it acquired a taste for humans. Bears don't usually attack humans so when one does they are keen to kill it to prevent possible future attacks. Makes sense really.

Re: Russian Man Killed by a Bear
Animal rights folks will say that you are unfairly biased in favor of humans (how surprising)! After all, why should bears be penalized for developing esoteric tastes?
