Re: Russia - Two Workers Removing Snow From Roof Falls To Their Death (Aftermath)
This is nuts. I've used a hydraulic lift extensively and I always wondered what would happen from a failure of too much weight in the basket since often times it was 2 of us + tool bag + cast alum. pole light fixtures etc. This is the last thing I expected in this type of failure.

I would think it would bend at a decelerated speed. It is hard for me to believe that type of fall killed them. As others have stated (froze to death) with mobility injuries.

I'm thinking that third section over-extended, came out of the section under it, lost it's support, and just flopped over.

"In Soviet Russia, ze snow clears YOU from ze roof." I'm guessing cold weather + metal fatigue + piss-poor maintenance = two dead Russians. Thanks v1r. |
