Evangeline Briones Shot Dead on Tres de Mayo Street, Minglanilla, Cebu, 2018
At about 5:45 p.m. on October 3, 2018, 31-year-old Evangeline Briones was walking on Tres de Mayo Street in Barangay Ward 4, Minglanilla, Cebu, when a lone gunman shot her once in the head. He escaped on foot and was never identified. Police said they suspected rivals in the drug trade killed Briones, who allegedly assumed control of the drug operation run by her late common-law partner, Minglanilla's top drug target, after he was killed in a police buy-bust that February. She was facing untried drug and murder charges when she died. No arrest in her killing has been reported. |
