Investigations [ change | change wikitext ] After the death of Stefano Cucchi, prison staff denied having used violence on the young and expressed different hypotheses on the cause of death, saying that the same could be dead or consequences to a supposed drug abuse, or due to previous physical condition, or for refusing admission to the Fatebenefratelli. Meanwhile, to stop the allegations that were made about his death, the family published some pictures of the young man in the morgue where many were clearly visible injuries from severe beatings and an obvious state of malnutrition [10] . During the investigation of the causes of death, a witness declared that Stefano Cucchi had told of being beaten; the inmate Marco Fabrizi asked to be put in a cell with Stefano (which was only) but this request was denied by an agent that he did with the hand sign of the beating; inmate Annamaria Costanzo said that the young man had said that he was beaten while Silvana Cappuccio personally saw the prison officers beat Cucchi with violence [11] . The preliminary investigation claimed that a man may die would be the consequent trauma to the beatings, the fasting (resulting in hypoglycemia ), the lack of medical care, liver damage and bleeding in the bladder that caused the voiding of the young (the death had a bladder containing 1,400 cc of urine and ascent to the bladder base and compression of abdominal and thoracic structures [12] ). Again according to the investigation, the police prison Nicola Minichini, Corrado Santantonio and Anthony Dominici agents would throw the boy to the ground causing him thoracic injuries, then raging with kicking and punching [13] . In addition to the prison officers, the suspects are doctors Aldo Fierro, Stefania Corbi and Rosita Caponnetti who would not have cared for the young, and that he would be left to die of starvation . They defended themselves by saying that it was the young man to refuse treatment [13] . "Philippines In the Philippines, you don’t get much leeway either. The first time you’re caught smoking a joint you can be sent to rehab for at least six months. If you are persistent enough to try again, the next time could land you in jail for between six and twelve years. If you get caught growing weed, you’re looking at anything from life imprisonment to the death penalty. The Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act will make your life a living hell. One man was jailed for 15 years after being caught with two “sticks” (assumedly meaning joints) of marijuana." from: http://www.theweedblog.com/toughest-...und-the-world/ |
