Sorry, but if you think that this type of behavior is exclusive to 'rich bitches', then you really need to take a better look at teenage behavior...in any era...the majority of teens do stupid things that they know they shouldn't do, for just as stupid of reasons...most of them make it through relatively unscathed, but there are still a shit ton that end up like Nikki - remember, the number one cause of death among teens is - you guessed it - car related fatalities, usually because of alchohol or driving beyond their limits...

Pure and simple, teens are dumb little shits that are lucky to reach age 20...I know I was...

Not all rich teens end up as a shit stain on a toll booth wall, but you add up kids who have no supervision, no sense of consequence, unlimited money and they can do no wrong, you get a recipe for disaster.

I drove a tow truck for a number of years and you should have seen some of the accidents I had to respond to.
1. Daddy bought a 16 year old a BMW 735i and the kid thought he could make a left turn onto a freeway on-ramp @ 90 mph. The CHP officer said it rolled 5 or 6 times. (lived--brain damage, no seat belt)
2. Two 20 year old girls who were racing their friends ala "Fast and the Furious" ended up going under a semi trailer on the freeway. (1 dead; 1 in a coma last time I heard)
3. Teen racing an older Dodge hit a airport shuttle bus @ about 100 mph (1 dead; driver of bus had broken back)

I could go on and on. You know what? Two major factors: Racing and/or cell phones.

I paraphrased you a bit, because if you take those factors, add in driving vehicles such as SUVs and sports cars that even lower middle class families seem to be allowing their teen kids to drive, which are way to easy to drive past their limits, drinking and drugs, and a general overconfidence in their limited experience as drivers, and you get the vast majority of teen accidents...

there are NO rich kids in my area, not by national standards, but we still get a shit ton of these types of accidents here...because teens just don't get it, and far too many parents think that they can trust their kids to be responsible ALL THE TIME - a lethal combination

Highway police in LA pull someone over for speeding? You're joking, right? They pull people over on those highways for going the speed limit because it's not fast enough to keep up with the flow of traffic...
