Re: Myanmar -- Teenage Woman Shot Dead During Protest
Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in the world. If you have the money to wear an expensive watch, a T-shirt in English, attend private school, own a vehicle of any kind, take karate or - hell - stop searching for food long enough to attend a protest, then your family is one of the bad guys. There are no good guys in Myanmar. Only the mind-numbingly poor and the corrupt-as-hell connected crooks who steal international aid, enslave their people, run the military, etc. This girl is no hero. She was mad that Daddy lost his pipeline to free money when the junta took back control.

Re: Myanmar -- Teenage Woman Shot Dead During Protest
Which is normal and to be expected when memorializing a friend/sister/girlfriend/follow participant who has given their life resisting a coup. The coke bottle was in the original image. Your post says it's inclusion lessens the impact of the tattoo. That "the corporate soda pop in her hand in the tattoo kind of lessens its impact. in my opinion." Of a young women who lost her life standing up against tyranny. What's it like being that fucking stupid? That resisting a coup requires anti-corporate attire to meet soja's impactfulness scale. BTW, was this you when writing that post? ? |

Re: Myanmar -- Teenage Woman Shot Dead During Protest
Coca-Cola Company's product is the first exposure millions of farm laborers in places like Myanmar get a taste for, and see that there is an exciting, limitless world existing beyond their endless days of soul-draining toil in rice paddies. The same situation along with telecom service and frustration with LEO ignited the Arab Spring in 2010.
