Re: Man Skinned Alive
As much as I want to finally solve the mystery of this pic, reading the book excerpt on amazon on this guy unfortunately it doesnt sound like it is. Apparently Ouchi, upon arriving at the hospital, only had a burn on his hand - everyone was surprised at how much radiation he had actually absorbed since he did not "look" that bad. Guess we have to keep looking :(

Re: Man Skinned Alive
A bullet in the head would be the most humane thing at that point. I can't imagine a more painful way to die. "Painful" doesn't even begin to describe what the man in that picture must've endured. Is there a word more extreme than 'agony'...? |

Re: Man Skinned Alive
Did my research today, and this is definitely the victim from the 1999 Tokaimura nuclear accident. Some other things I found... http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/ail01u9j1...1/d142ea5c.png The guy's face melting as the radiation sickness progresses http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/ail01u9j1...c/ac555cad.png Our famous picture, with a caption! Damn, I'd really like to get my hands on the book (A Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness) |
