Re: Man Mauled by His Own Dog
Chihuahuas bite more vets than any other dog. Big dogs get a bad rap because they can cause more damage. You don't hear of a little toilet brush looking thing killing people only because they're too small to do it. All dogs can be dangerous. |

Re: Man Mauled by His Own Dog
My neighbors have a pit bull and she is one of the sweetest dogs I know. They really spoil that dog and she acts like a princess. When she wants to play, she'll walk up to you with a tennis ball and toss it to you. That being said, I do think that breed can make a difference as some are smarter and harder to train obedience in. I have a mixed dog (German Shepard, chow chow, American terrier) and she is a really sweet dog with family, but she gets real aggressive around strangers. Also, she can get overly excited and really hyper, so I could see her get to excited and attack one of these days. |

Re: Man Mauled by His Own Dog
These dogs can be vicious, they ripped apart my cat's hind leg and nearly killed him. Not only that, but just 6 days ago a family owned pit bull attacked and killed a young boy without any warning or reason. The family says that the dog was "very nice" and "had never shown aggression before". I don't care if they are friendly 90% of the time, anything with that much potential to harm and kill should not be kept as a pet. |
