I would suggest that the fellow sitting on the tailgate was taken by surprise when the driver got on the brakes, causing our friend to fall over backwards, and into the pinchpoint of the pulley/drive-belt. I remember Norelco experimenting with something similar in the late 60's. It didnt catch on though, so they scrapped the project. |
