Iraq and Afghanistan War Photos, With a 2004 Black Hawk Crash
These photographs are a mixed set from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, roughly 2004 to 2008, rather than one incident. The identified image shows the wreckage of a UH-60A Black Hawk, tail number 87-24579, which crashed near Nasiriyah, Iraq, on September 21, 2004. All four crew were wounded and rescued, and the wreckage was examined at Tallil Air Base. At least two of the other photographs are from Afghanistan.
