Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Apologies for only just jumping in with this (I'm enduring Hurricane Sandy as I type) but I believe Douglas Revson's fatal crash saw his car run over a spectator.... the owner of the track. He was killed as well. I'll do some research and come up with more info. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Hmm, can't seem to edit, so here's a quick cut & paste: Douglas Revson, an American Formula 3 driver, and Jens Christian Legarth, the Danish owner of the Ring Djursland circuit, located near the village Perstrup, in Djursland, Denmark, were both killed in an accident at the race track, on Sunday, 30 July 1967. Five other people were seriously injured, including Legarth's wife, Anni; Henry Krogsø, the chairman of a local racing association and racing official; Kurt Salling, a factory owner and the race starter of the track (all hit by Revson's car); Hans Gramberg, a stock car driver; and, finally, Gunnar Jørgensen, a mechanic. The last two were hit by Ray O'Connor, another American driver, whose car also hit Mr. Legarth. The accident happened on the twelfth lap of the first heat of the day's Formula 3 event. A Danish driver, Jørgen Ellekær in a Brabham BT21 - Ford - or, according to earlier reports, Ole Vejlund's Brabham BT21 - Ford - was signalled by Ray O'Connor to pass his Cooper T83 - Ford on the right side. As O'Connor was moving to the left to make room for the Dane's pass, Doug Revson who drove a Brabham BT21 - Ford, attempted to pass O'Connor on the left. Contact was made and both cars crashed at about 170 km/h into the infield where almost twelve persons, marshals and track officials were standing, with the results shown above. O'Connor's car got onto the grass somewhat earlier than the car of Doug Revson, which hit a big concrete tube situated close to the tarmac and which had been used by the starter. The circuit owner Jens Christian Legarth had been standing nearby, but as he ran away from the area where Revson was heading to, he ran into the path of O'Connor. Doug Revson and Jens Christian Legarth were killed almost instantly. Taken from Motorsport Memorial website. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
In the evening of the 26th July 1975, during the 8th hour of the Spa 24 hour race, a half shaft of the Opel Commodore GS/E of Wim Boshuis broke and the car spun at La Carriére, it ended up stationary the middle of the road. Boshuis’s car was hit by the two BMW 3.0 CSi's of Jeannot Sauvage and Jean-Jacques Feider and by the Sunbeam Avenger of Freddy Grainal. Boshuis was instantly killed, as you can see from the first photo he had not chance to survive.

Go for it! The program is amazing, and converting pictures to 3D isn't hard at all once you get the hang of it. And the subject of this thread has an unlimited amount of material.
