A rare photo of Henri Grandsire's huge practice flip and subsequent crash in his Alpine A220 Renault during the 1000km of Nürburgring 1968. He was French Formula 3 Champion 1964, he also won his class in the 1966 and '67 Le Mans.

John Keran's Holden Torana blowing a tyre at McPhilamy Park during the 1970 Australian Touring Car Championship. John broke his leg very badly and it finished his racing career.

Pedro Passadore crashes his Pianetto-Dodge V8 in the 500 Miles Rafaela race during 1977 which is part of the Formula Uno Naciona Championship.

German Paul Pietsch features in a post a while ago and had a number of large crashes during his long career. This is all that's left of his Maserati after turning it over at the 1937 Masaryk GP. He was hospitalised for a few days but with no lasting damage.

Ants Seiler was Russia'a answer to Jim Clark and they would both die in crashes during 1968, both cars going off the track and into trees. Seiler collided with Georgian driver Shota Mamrikashvili on the last left bend of the Circuit of Speed. Both cars touched wheels and both drivers lost control on their cars and left he track ending in the trees. Mamrikashvili's car missed impacting them and he only had slight injuries. Ants Seiler's Estonia 9M - Wartburg F3 car crashed hard into a tree and was killed on the spot. Ants was Russian Champion in 1961 and runner up in '65.  · |

Arsenio 'Dodjie' Laurel's fatal crash during the 1967 Macau GP for Formula Junior cars. A very hard impact with the concrete barrier followed by an intense fire leaving him no chance of survival...
