If you look real close at the bottom of the screenshot you can see Van Vuurens face coming up out of his flip, his feet are behind him with his heels about to kick the back of his head like the old "Boston Crab" move in WWF

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

I remember the first time I saw it on TV I knew he was dead before the Sportscaster even said it was a fatal accident

It was horrible

Then the next day Senna dies

I started losing interest after that, and slowly stopped watching and caring

I only held on to the memories and only wanted to talk racing if it was before 1994
I remember when they looked inside the trunk of Senna's car they saw a flag for Ratzinger that he had planned to raise after he finished as a tribute.

Le Mans 1955

Here is the original Le Mans thread with an amazing clip of the 4 camera angles of the crash and slo-mo replays

http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...1955-a-109045/

This reminds me of Wolfgang von Trips' 1961 crash--He goes off road and his car plows into the crowd killing about 18 people.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Im starting to find more screen shot studies I did years ago, trying to get a large screenshot with out destroying the resolution. These obviously are low quality, but it was the best I could do at the time

Fire Marshal Jansen Van Vuuren: Kyalami 1977

His body literally does a windmill! At first I thought it was his jacket ripping off his body, but then I read reports saying that he was so messed up that the only way they could confirm the identity was to count all of the crewmen.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Thank you for mentioning Von Trips, I will post his horrible crash next

And like Le Mans it was horrific carnage, his car veers pretty much straight into the crowd and then back down onto the track

I have the video as well so I will post that first

And I think that I heard that about Senna with a flag for Ratzy in his car a really long time ago but had forgotten about it until I read your post. That makes an already sad horrible situation that much harder to swallow

There is so much conflicting information about Van Vuuren and his wounds, the part about the Fire Chief having to do a head count to see who was missing did happen, so that part is true and tells you right away that his injuries were severe enough to not even identify the body

I do not think he was ripped in two pieces as it looks in the video, I think he almost was, but what we see after VanV hits the ground is his pants, shoes and vest go one way while VanV"s body goes to the fence and appears to almost go under it

Its hard to tell truth from fiction in lots of crashes, thats why I research and do my own frame by frame, or picture analysis, so I can draw my on conclusion

Im sure im wrong in most cases, but at least im informed enough to have a plausible opinion

Wolfgang Von Trips and 18 spectators: Monza 1961 Italian Grand Prix

Here is a vid I made, instead of listening to the German narration I added some appropriate non offensive music

I will assume that your talking about the Gordon Smiley study I did on page 11 post 102

But since you didnt quote or make reference to what picture or even crash your talking about its a stab in the dark assumption that took me hours and days of painstaking work to boil it down to the only wreck that I have ever seen where the steering wheel was ripped out of the drivers hands and went flying off

Thank you for making it easy for me, now on to your intelligent and thought provoking post

So you love the steering wheel flying away?

Why? Is it funny to you? Are you trying to be funny?

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

This is a short but amazing video of Sennas crash

It is every video synced together including his onboard cam as well as the cars cam right behind him

It was made for the court case for his crash that went on for 11 years
Wasn't there some controversy that the last few frames of the in car cam were missing prior to Sennas impact with the wall?
