Re: Idiot high on meth starts to cut himself and pulling his intestines out
[QUOTE=Smegma;31868]see his own bowels and is still alive... amazing :) I need those skills too :D[/QUOTE The entire reason he didn't die is that he did not loose enough blood by severing any major organs. What actually happens when you loose blood and die is that your heart simply stops all together. This usually happens not at a complete blood loss but at about a 45% or less loss. To save someones life, it is imperative to get an iv access in as soon as possible to push fluid in as quickly as you can. Amazingly, you could loose up to 25% of your blood but the total volume be retained by the IV fluid and your heart would keep on beating and the tissues would still get the oxygen they need. Our bodies are designed to live and were somehow designed with all these ways to keep us alive when we should most certainly be dead. As for this victim, what he has done is painful looking and painful indeed but he was skillful enough with a steady hand slow enough. Which brings me to another point to mention. If you cut slow enough, you give any wound, even this one, time to clot. One long immediate incision will loose much more blood v/s time than the same incision cut in shorter sections. The shorter incision technique would allow the bodies natural clotting mechanism to prevent him from lethal blood loss. If this guy did end up dying it was most probably from infection. The biggest risk of any abdominal surgery is knicking the bowel. We have to be very careful and mind where our blades are when we are in there. One tiny knick allows enough intestinal bacterial to leak out and then its bye bye in a few days. With that said, had he knicked his bowels during his artistic expression, and the surgeons didn't find it during repair surgery, he will die from fecal matter spewing into his abdomen and ultimately dying from bacterial poisoning also known as, SEPSIS. It is a very nasty way to go. Dr. Ron Yes I am a real doctor and I love this place... |
