Sorry but your criminology course must be shit because its simple biology and physics ALL dead bodies will eject urine and faeces within a few hours as the muscles loose blood and retract back letting everything out ,you are right that a person will piss themselves but as you can see the stains are more or less straight in one place only and in a struggle it would be all over the place and this is what they should of taught you in criminology haha no offence

No, he (as well as his criminology class) is quite right. While you are not wrong that the body does often void bladder and/or bowels up to several hours after death (a process called primary flaccidity), it is also extremely common for it to occur before death in cases of strangulation.

This is due to pressure against the carotid artery and the vagal nerve bundle. Every police training manual in the US urges officers to be alert for signs of involuntary urination in women when investigating domestic violence cases, so as to ascertain whether the woman has been strangled (or partially strangled) and therefore had her life threatened.

I have read a multitude of witness statements, suspect statements, and victim statements from assaults, domestic violence, and murder. Many of the ones involving strangulation attacks or hanging suicide attempts involved wet pants before life actually ceased. Trust me-it is not at all uncommon.
