I found the original text of this case. It happened in an arab country and in fact it was an 3x suicide attempt. 1st she tried to poison herself with insecticides (which didnt worked for obvious reasons), 2nd she tried to cut her wrists, which is indeed a slow, horrible way to go and finally she hanged herself, which actually worked.
She was a foreign worker, isolated and abused by her sponsor, which was the reason for her to do this rather extreme steps.

An asian domestic helper was the subject of repeated physical abuse by her elite sponsor. Picture 3 shows in addition to multiple bruises of the right forearm,a dry heat burn caused by an iron. The night of the incident was preceeded by an episode of abuse which resulted in mutiple extensive bruising of the thighs and buttocks. The poor women was rushed to a near by dispensery which failed to report the incident to the police and the woman was just injected with an analgesic.
Upon returning to her room,she locked the door,pulled a paper tissue and with the butt of a sewing needle (she was denied of writing materials)and wrote a suicide note and put curses on her sponsor.
She tried to empty a can of pif paf insecticide into a glass and drink it. This first attempt of committing suicide was not effective or not fast enough for her. In a second atempt,she used a shaving razor to slash her wrist (as shown in the second picture). You can notice the chractrestic hesitation marks. Again death was not fast enough for her,so she used the razor to cut the electric cord of an iron,fixed it to the drape bar and hanged her self. She used a table to reach the suspension point as shown in the first picture.

I imagi e the fourth way would be to tie herself with the cord's bare coppers and plugging it to the power outlet.

News not new to us here in the philippines. Happens often and still happening to many who thought going abroad is the easiest way to be rich. (Rich in Philippine basis is just considered fair to middlin status in the first world countries)
