Yeah, certainly prettier than many. Interesting that she took the time to apply lipstick before hanging herself (something we almost never see in hangings here). I wonder if it was just a subconscious act or if she actually figured her body would be photographed publicly. It is fairly is common in her country to release these images and she was a social media selfie-hound anyway. Just something we very rarely see in this thread. Of course, for all that, she still soiled her jeans when she strangled, LOL. Probably not the sort of photos she envisioned leaving behind her when she popped her clogs. |

I don't know if Nepal has a similar culture as eastern Asia, but I watched a lot of hanging suicide scenes in east Asian movies and series, and many of the girls do apply make-ups before hanging. When you see in TV a girl applying lipstick (or, in ancient times, biting a piece of red paper by lips), combing her hair slowly and dressing up with a sad or emotionless face, you know for sure that a hanging will follow. Dying pretty (at least as they thought it would be) is an important issue in these cultures. |

All of that may be true. And, indeed, I have seen those same sorts of scenes in Korean and Taiwanese dramas more than once. It's a fairly lame romantic fallacy perpetrated by television, though. Lipstick or no lipstick, no one looks 'pretty' with a snotty nose, their tongue hanging out, piss running down their legs, and a deuce in their undies.  Except maybe to the necros.  |
