The Arizona Daily Star lists deaths in 2 ways. The first is a small death listing, giving just the name, age, date of death and residency. This is the best reference, because they may report 15 deaths, but there only will be 8 obituaries. The second is the obituary section. They don't always give cause of death, and probably a family would leave that out. Also, there may be a small news clipping. The ADS does report on suicides, and murder/suicides, since they happen down here with the elderly a lot. (Husband taking care of alzheimer wife, can't take it any more, kills her and shoots himself.) I went to the main library. The papers are not digitized, and are only on microfiche. It took me 2 hours to go through June 1st through June 5th. Nothing so far. Next time will be faster. Microfiche is slow and hard to use. I will report back on what I find. |
