Just in case anyone actually cares, this case is still unsolved and likely to remain that way. I was recently informed by a local source, however, that the unofficial (read:unprovable) explanation is that she very recently started seeing a new boyfriend. He apparently had ties to the wrong Cartel and rather than putting him down, they decided to give his new squeeze this rather undignified death instead. Adding another photo or two of her while alive, just so my update isn't only text  ·  · |

It was quite an unpleasant way to go, apparently. One of the reporters that was there at the initial scene said that the Ford Explorer 'smelled like an outhouse at the fair' when they opened it up. I expect she was a long time dying and it wasn't pretty. |
