Re: The Best Place To Off Yourself
Boudreaux i'm sorry about your uncle. thats awful, and so planned and premeditated with thought out details. my friends sister took her life last september at 36 years old. she used a helium tank to kill herself. its called an exit bag. went and got the tank, put a tarp down on the floor of her apartment so she wouldn't make a mess, and attached a hose to a bag, then to the tank and went to sleep. her mom had passed away a year prior and she never got over it and lived alone. just so sad. we walked into her apartment a few days later and she had everything color coded and sticky noted where to donate what-shelters, her grief counseling center, etc. had a detailed outlined list of all her belongings and who got what. no one knew she had quit her job a year before. she lived off the money her mom left her (like 18k and enough to sustain her for a year) instead and took a trip to CA and two months later gone. just all very planned out. |

Re: The Best Place To Off Yourself
Whoops, sorry, I left out two pieces of information that may have been relevant. My uncle Albert, the one who killed himself, was a farmer, and his back yard was adjacent to his fields. A few minutes with a hose probably would have done 99% of the cleanup, especially considering that his wife (a very sweet woman) wasn't going to be spending much time out there. The other significant fact I omitted is that Albert had intractable cancer--colon, I think, but it's been 20 years now. Nothing the doctors could do, very little time left to live, and he was already having a lot of pain. I hope to be able to off myself if I'm ever in that position mysefl. I've already died in a hospital (I got better) and it wasn't very pleasant. |

Re: The Best Place To Off Yourself
There's one reason and one reason only for suicide. It's not depression, although that is definitely a lead up to it, or other mental illnesses. It's hopelessness. That's it. No more hope. Nothing.

Re: The Best Place To Off Yourself
[QUOTE=Yoloman;6293815]When I was in high school, there was a very very cute, super social little party girl classmate in 10th grade. Her older brother was strict ROTC, had a boomstick up his butt, and parents not much more liberal. She wrecked the Way to go, little peaches, for being unhappy with being grounded! You love your family so much![/QUOTE Don't you suspect there might be much to the story than just a girl being grounded? |

Re: The Best Place To Off Yourself
Ya, maybe a lot of intra-family abuse, incest, all kinds of things that got covered up by her suicide, versus going to the authorities. Never really considered that .... just thought how sad she must have been, and what happened to make her go out with such a horrible scene?
