38-Year-Old Woman Shot to Death in Davao City
In an incident in Baguio District, Davao City, a 38-year-old woman lost her life after being shot. The incident occurred outside a local store in Purok 4B, Barangay Malagos, Davao City, on the evening of Saturday, March 26, 2022, at approximately 5:10 pm. The victim, identified as V.O., a resident of the area, was engaged in a routine activity, purchasing cigarettes, when the attack unfolded. A male assailant approached and shot V.O. in the face with a .45 caliber pistol, resulting in immediate fatality. Police Major Ricky Obenza, the head of Baguio Police Station, is leading the investigation. He revealed that the police are exploring various leads, including a potential connection to a Concubinage case involving the victim, which is currently pending in the Municipal Trial Court, as well as a land dispute linked to the victim's partner. Adding to the complexity of the case, the victim's brother reported that V.O. had previously received a death threat via text message, hinting at a possible premeditated aspect of the crime.  ·  ·  ·  · |

Near Davao, my grandmother in law sleeps with an AR-15 under her pillow. All staff are armed to the teeth. When I go down to Davao I usually have two off duty PNP guys with machine pistols under their tropical shirts. My father in law always brings his .45 when we go out. Mayor/President Duterte invented the Davao Death Squads years ago. About one hundred years ago, the US Army retained Colt to design a pistol that would stop the Morro Indians in Mindanao as they charged out of the jungle, before their long spears could kill the US Army. Ya, Filipinos are armed to the teeth, usually .45. It's the weapon of choice for the motor hit squad to take out the journalist, disagreeable pol, rival drug dealer, or anyone with a gripe with the wrong person. |
