21 Year-old Woman Diving and Swimming Killed by Yacht Propeller
Charismatic, lover of the sea and water sports, that's how relatives described her, V.G.M, who died tragically in Bolívar, north Colombia after a yacht passed over her while she was diving and swimming. The young psychologist student of the Universidad del Norte and who was doing internships in the city of Valledupar died immediately. The 21 year-old and her friends rented a boat yesterday morning in the sector known as Tierra Firme, on the aforementioned island, to enjoy the sea. The young woman was next to her companions in the sea and in a moment she submerged. It was then that a yacht hit her with the propeller causing fatal injuries that ended her life immediately, according to a Captain commander of the Caribbean Coast Guard. The friends and some nearby boatmen rescued the body and took it to the shore, while several people gave notice to the authorities to get to the point and thus advance the respective proceedings of the removal of the body. Her body was taken to the Legal Medicine facilities, waiting for her relatives to come forward to claim it.                |

Yes it is outstanding! I’m a very experienced scuba diver .. always careful to mark diving area and listen watch for incoming boats before last 10 feet up The article says diving but no scuba tanks on her so must have been snorkeling. Which would put her near her own boat. My guess is the killer boat just zoomed in out of nowhere too close reckless and ran her over. The strikes are in her back so she must have been face Down in the surface. Visible to the boat driver if cared to look Any reports at to driver impairment? Good find! Thanks |

Kirsty MacColl was killed the same way, 19 years ago this month. Though in her case, a yacht was plowing through a no-boating area reserved for swimmers. Fucking rotten shame; she was immensely talented and had an angelic voice. Anyway, great post. Thanks KH. |

A few moments of complete, irresponsible stupidity on the part of one person results in the loss of the life of a vibrant young woman. Life sometimes just sucks ass.

Her spine was probably cut by propeller... I understand the poor guy in the first pic seems to be in complete state of shock  Impressive find, thanks ! |
