Re: 14-year-old Girl Body Found Quartered in a House in São Paulo
Everyone must face their ultimate destination by that age. We like to think they won't to meet it until later. You imply an order of a predestined fate. There are no rules. It's all just random chance. We dodge what we can, but sooner (as for her) or later (as for most of us) it still gets us.

If there is a Hell, as you hope, then there is a god. That means your fucking god allowed this to happen, so he wanted it to happen. For all you know, he was rubbing one out as he watched. Since he wanted this killing to happen, he will likely let the killer into heaven. Since he clearly didn't care about the girl, she will most likely burn in Hell forever. It's only logical. |

Sometimes the victim deserves some blame. The world has predators in it and you have to be careful. If I went into the wilderness without protection gun/bear mace and was mauled wouldn't it be my fault to a degree. Yea the bear attacked me, but thats what predators do. Just some predators are humans.

The difference being this was a 14 year old CHILD. There's a reason why there's different ages of criminal responsibility for example, and how old you can be to give legal consent. Do you not get that? That a child/adolescents mind is different to an adults when it comes to making decisions? If you want to blame anyone, blame the parents. I can't actually believe anyone would think a 14 year old has some blame in her own murder simply because she was dating a guy that took it upon himself to do this to her.

Re: 14-year-old Girl Body Found Quartered in a House in São Paulo
In most or all states 14 year olds can be tried as an adult. The age of consent is different in different states and countries. If a 14 year old rides his skateboard in a dangerous location and dies, does he bear any of the responsibility? If he swims in a "no swimming" pond... |

So did this guy have a sign on him saying "murderer"? You fail to grasp the difference. It's not a one fits all, you plank. Try learning something about the developing brain and choice making. It puzzles me how in every comment you make you call people dumb and talk about being smart, yet talk the complete and utter shite that you do. Embarrassing.

As soon as someone applauds themself as being intellectually superior to others, they are invariably the opposite, and embarrassingly so. It's better to ignore and let them flap their ignorant lips to the wind than actually give them the attention they crave.

Re: 14-year-old Girl Body Found Quartered in a House in São Paulo
I should have been more clear. I was mainly shitting on "don't blame the victim" mentally I hear constantly now-a-days. You're right though: in this scenario it seems like everyone around her failed her. Her parents and the witnesses who said they had seen her with this man before. On the other hand we shouldn't be so sensitive as to make everything black or white to simplify hard topics/situations. When does someone 'become' an adult? It's not blatantly apparent like a caterpillar to a butterfly, alas all I am saying is question the status quo. |
