The driver was obviously watching his mirrors-that was clear because he backed up far too straight to have been doing it blind. They were simply out of his range of vision. His truck, on the other hand, all 15 bright blue fucking tons of it, was CLEARLY in the girl's field of vision the entire time. Or would have been if she'd been paying even an ounce of attention to her surroundings. It isn't like the driver came out of nowhere, clearing a corner at 75mph and splattered a crosswalk full of people. He was going in reverse for a considerable distance.

The video makes it clear that this 'accident' was no one's fault but the idiot girl who couldn't be bothered to stop texting long enough not to die.

Alright fuckstick I'll answer that- when backing a truck over distances where there are PEDESTRIANS ABOUT you do not back straight back. You turn slightly left to right, right to left etc as you are reversing so as to scan the ground you are covering. Safely. Yes I am a commercial driver and have been for many years, that driver new there were people present and had no spotter to blame either..

The driver should have seen the kid. Yes, kids are irresponsible sometimes, that's why it is up to the guy in the truck to make sure he doesn't back it into someone.

It's not like she was in some fenced off construction area, she's just standing beside the road. Clearly Thailand needs stricter safety protocols to prevent exactly this type of accident.
