Parents? What the fuck? She was THIRTEEN not THREE. Thirteen is old enough to know whether or not you can swim in a goddam pool...and damned sure old enough to do so without your parents. This is northern Mexico we're talking about here. Don't you read the narco threads? Half these kids have already skinned six people alive by age thirteen. They sure as fuck don't need parental chaperones in the swimming pool. You sound like the sort that makes your brats use hand sanitizer after playing out in the dirt. |

I was a lifeguard and I just have to say that I am completely confused by these photos. Her head should be tilted back at a 45 degree angle and her jaw should be opened if she were being given CPR. This just looks like they pulled her out and stared at her. I don't know how long she was under or why she is wearing clothes, but something just is not right here.  |

I agree. Something is wrong here. The accident was witnessed according to the narrative given, so presumably the girl was not underwater for very long before she was pulled out. It would be unconscionable not to make a strong and protracted effort to revive her, but these "rescue" folks seem to be just sitting around staring at her. Had they already done CPR and decided to give up? But then, as you note, her head and mouth position don't suggest this. Were they clueless despite their uniforms and equipment?
