P Halton police say a driver is facing charges after they were stopped on Appleby Line in Burlington in a chair meant for backyard barbecues, not sitting behind the steering wheel.  Police shared two photos of a wicker folding chair. "Just when you think you have seen it all," read the post. "Yes that's the drivers 'seat.'" Officers stopped the vehicle and said its licence plates were removed and it was towed. The driver was charged with unsafe operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a seatbelt, Const. Ryan Anderson said. The charges were laid under a Part 3 summons, which is traditionally used for "some of the more serious offences" under the Highway Traffic Act, said Anderson. "If the driver is found guilty in court, the fine or penalty will be set by the Justice of the Peace."  ·  ·  · |
