ASBURY PARK — Two men are hospitalized after being shot while sitting in a parked vehicle in Asbury Park early this morning, authorities said.
The 28- and 30-year-old Asbury Park residents were in the vehicle on Main Street, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, when multiple shots were fired around 1:20 a.m. today, said Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Marc LeMieux.
Both men, whose names were not released, are being treated at a local hospital, authorities said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Jeff Wilbert of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office at 1-800-533-7443 or Detective Javier Campos at 732-774-1300.
A one-minute surveillance video provided by The Cameo Bar recorded the city's latest shooting.
The video begins with a man in a blue shirt and black turban walking past two parked cars, one of which has its headlights on. That man then crosses the street and goes out of the camera's view.
The next clip shows a different man getting into the driver's side of the car with its headlights on and shutting the door. Then, the man originally seen walking at the beginning of the video reappears from the street behind the car with another man.
The two men are seen firing several shots at the vehicle with its headlights on, before they run from the area in separate directions.
Shortly thereafter, the driver and passenger are seen exiting and running from the car, in the opposite direction from where the two shooters ran. A police car then arrives, and the two people who exited the car stop running to sit on the curb near where the police car parked on the street.
