i do not agree. Alot of my family members own pit bulls and they are good dogs, but it does not change the fact that they are vicious fighting machines bred by man to kill other dogs. sure you can get a loyal and well behaved pit bull, but I personally will not take the chance. My brother in law's pit bull bit a toddler in the face because the kid stepped on her. this dog was around babies it's entire life (5 years old) and never showed the slightest signs of hostility towards anyone. I will never trust a pit bull and you would be wise to do the same. Once they fully snap and taste blood even their owners can't do a damn thing to control them. I agree that bad owners = bad dogs, but you cant make a lion into a pet cat and expect it to suddenly forget its violent history. only smart people who understand dog psychology should own a pit. just saying. i know i will probably get bad responses but its my opinion and that's yours.

A lot of dogs, hell even people, would bite you if you stepped on their leg. I love how people take a Pit biting a human and then just add it to the ever growing list of why they are bad dogs, yet if my Chi bites you, you giggle at him saying, nice try. All dogs can bite, so does than mean they're all bad? People don't care if a Lab, Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Pug or JRT bites you, but just a Pit. Mass hysteria.

If you are attacked by a dog, don't keep screaming and flailing your arms/legs everywhere...you have to relax. The excitement only keeps the dog going.

how the HELL can a grown man not fight off ONE pit bull! I've broken up dog fights (german shepherds) many times so Im not speaking out of my ass...I also participate in schutzhund so I know what its like to get bit by a strong dog. How do these cops subdue criminals?

Spot on, I was about to post something quite similar but you took the words straight out from my mouth.

I think people should think more carefully when taking a dog on, especially when they have children.
