An attempted robbery at a floating gas station in the central region of Tarauacá, ended with 3 criminals arrested at the end of that Friday afternoon. The criminal action was thwarted after the victim reacted, with the support of employees of the establishment and locals. The suspects arrived at the location in a boat and announced the robbery. One of them was armed with a firearm, while the other carried a bladed weapon. Under threat, the criminals demanded that the cash from the register be handed over. During the incident, the victim took advantage of a moment of distraction by the robbers to engage in a physical struggle with the suspect who was carrying the firearm. In the confrontation, three shots were fired, causing panic among customers and people who were nearby. Despite the situation, no one was hit. One of the shots struck a parked vehicle, causing only material damage. Unable to take the money, the criminals tried to escape along the riverbank, but dropped some of the money during their escape. One of those involved was caught and restrained by locals until the arrival of the Military Police. The other suspects were also located and arrested by the security forces. After the arrest, the trio was taken to the Civil Police Station, where they remained at the disposal of the Justice system. During the operation, the police seized the boat used in the attempted robbery, an engine and other items that will be submitted for forensic examination. The Civil Police have opened an investigation to determine the individual involvement of each suspect. The case was initially registered as attempted robbery and attempted homicide, due to the shots fired during the criminal act. |
