Ukranian Women Stabbed In Rail

Surveillance video shows the moments before and after a woman was stabbed to death by a passenger on the Charlotte light rail in August 2025.

Footage released two weeks after the stabbing shows the alleged attacker pull out a pocket knife, stab the woman sitting in front of him, then walk around the rail car.

The woman, identified as 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, was stabbed three times, and at least once in the throat.

She was pronounced dead on the rail car. Zarutska recently fled to Charlotte from war-torn Ukraine, according to loved ones.

The alleged attacker was identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr.

He was initially hospitalized for a laceration on his hand after the stabbing, and was arrested after he was released.

Brown was then charged with first-degree murder.

My son is a schizophrenic, i dont know how it works in certain parts of America, he gets his bloods done every fortnight to make sure he is taking his medication prescribed to him an outpatient from the psychiatric hospital, if it even shows the slightest drop from what it should be, i have and doctors at my door unannounced to take him back to hospital....Poor woman never stood a chance..RIP

They certainly have a purpose NOW, where still standing. Great ghost exploration grounds, as they're pretty uniformly haunted AF and still host the same violent and deeply disturbed attractant energies as they had when open and operating (plus those entities attracted by such energies, before and/or post-shutdown).

A friend of mine (social worker for homeless schizophrenics) was, kind of predictably I have to admit, savagely stabbed to death by one of her clients in a hyperparanoid florid state (a dozen blows to the chest & uppers front and back, 3 of which would've been fatal by themselves), likely after cheeking his meds for awhile (long enough, I guess). What I wonder is, why is it ok to release folks like that, when even IF they're getting the helpful attentions of the crew(s) of skilled professionals necessary to try to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen, it still can? If you think about the quality of life of someone suffering this kind of affliction (to such a degree), how is guaranteeing they're free to inflict their instabilities on the world worth this kind of potential damage plus the general burden on medical resources and society? Thank you, wildaxboxer, for sharing how your son has an excellent, on-top-of-it crew helping him. But for those who DON'T have that intervention for whatever reasons, or can still get around it, why isn't it just safer for them and everyone else to simply NOT be out walking around others? I don't mean execution, and I'm not trying to open a big can of worms, it's just frustrating and there's no easy solution in practice, and I miss my friend who was taken well before her time by what ended up being, essentially, a potentially rabid animal still allowed to roam the streets.
