This is the horrific moment a 19-year-old girl was grabbed by a stranger while working at a store, hours before she was found dead in the trunk of her car.
Wendy Zapata Hernandez was abducted yesterday from behind the till at the convenience store where she worked in Arkansas.
A massive search was launched by police but her body was found just hours later after the suspect, believed to be the man seen in the grainy footage, was seized wandering the streets in his



Cody Shane Griffin, 25, has since been charged with murder.
Miss Hernandez went to work at Selena's, a Dish TV Retailer, at 9am yesterday but just minutes later a customer arrived and found the store empty, with the safe open.
The customer called 911, prompting the search for Miss Hernandez.




Disturbing CCTV footage from the store shows a man walking in and grabbing Miss Hernandez from behind the counter at just after 9am.
He can be seen taking out a knife and pulling it to her throat. After a brief tussle she can be seen being dragged out of the store.
Later in the day, Sevier County deputies arrested Griffin, who was seen walking in just his boxer shorts.







Officials say he then told investigators where to find Miss Hernandez's car and her body.
Sheriff Monte Stringfellow told WAFB: 'The suspect who's now in custody, we're real familiar with him so we ID'd him right off the bat.'
Miss Hernandez’s father was at the scene praying before officers confirmed his daughter’s body had been found.
She was discovered in the trunk of her 1999 Ford Mustang deep at about 2pm yesterday, after police helicopters spotted it in deep woodland about five miles northeast of Horatio.
Late into last night officers continued to search the area for a murder weapon.

‘It took the helicopters to find the car,’ sheriff Stringfellow, who was in one of the helicopters, told the Texarkana Gazette.
Of the suspect, he added: ‘He has been a frequent flier with the criminal justice system here. He had robbed the De Queen Sonic about seven years ago using a knife. We were able to recognise him from the video.’
It is not yet known how much money was taken from the store. An autopsy is currently being performed on Miss Hernandez’s body.

The Sevier County sheriff says investigators have recovered a murder weapon and bloody clothes allegedly belonging to a man arrested for the slaying of a store clerk in Horatio.

Hernandez, who was married with a young child and was pregnant with her second child.

Stringfellow says deputies have found Hernandez's car, Griffin's blood-covered clothes, the knife thought to be used in the killing and money missing from the store safe.

Wendy Sardel Zapata-Hernandez, age 19, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Thursday, Sept. 15th near Horatio.

She was born to Enrique Escalera and Juliet Hernandez at Durango, Mexico on December 23, 1991.

She was a graduate of De Queen High School in 2008, an employee of Selenas, in Horatio. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Javier Aguilar Hernandez of De Queen, a daughter, Leah Alondra Hernandez of De Queen, her parents, Enrique Zapata Escalera and Juliet Hernadez of Lockesburg, a brother Enrirque Zapata Hernadez of De Queen, a sister, Thalia Ivone Zapata Hernandez, and husband, Oscar of Durango, Mexico, a nephew, Oscar Gutierrez Zapata of Durango, Mexico; her grandmother, Maria Guadalupe Urbina Alferez of Durango, Mexico, two aunts, Rosalia Martenez of Horatio, and Erendira Hernandez Alferes of Lockesburg.
