More details in the death of a 19-year-old woman shot by a Boone County deputy are emerging as the initial coroner’s report is released at the same time as a new cruiser cam. Samantha Ramsey was hit six times apparently by four bullets, according to the Provisional Summary and Interim Report released by the Boone County coroner. It said Ramsey was hit in the left arm and in the right wrist. Both of those shots went completely through. The report goes on to say Ramsey was hit in the right chest with two bullets and in the left chest with two. One of those hitting the liver, spleen and the left ventricle of the heart. Four copper jacketed bullets were recovered from Ramsey’s body. The cause of death only indicating Ramsey died from multiple gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, cruiser cam from a second deputy’s vehicle was released. The video is from Boone County Deputy Lt. Reed’s cruiser. It shows Reed beginning his response toward the shooting scene at 2:13:30 a.m. Two minutes and 30 seconds later Reed arrives. He parks behind Brockman’s cruiser with another cruiser in between. Reed is seen running toward the front of Brockman’s cruiser. All of the video from Reed’s cruiser is after the shooting. WLWT News 5 was in contact with the Boone County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday but it is not commenting on the report or the cruiser cam. |
